Biography
A bit about your role
I am an SEO Digital Marketing Consultant. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
is the science (some would say art) of helping websites rank higher on organic
search – I consult on this (digitally!).
What is your professional progression internally or externally? If external, how did it help you arrive at ob体育靠谱足球下载? I am lucky in that I have had considerable experience across a whole host of marketing and non-marketing sectors and roles throughout my career. From project managing augmented reality healthcare applications to working on huge international multilingual websites and SEO projects, I have seen pretty much everything within digital marketing. While that sounds like the kind of nonsense someone might just say to make their LinkedIn profile look impressive, I really do think this to be true in my case.
What is it about Digital Marketing that you find most interesting?
It is fascinating to see human behaviour patterns through the data available –
how quickly people will move on if frustrated by a website, why specific words
work with people and why some don’t, what visual cues they use to find what
they want to find, wondering why someone has made a bot to spam your
analytics. It’s all there.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Tactically trying to out-manoeuvre something that is essentially blackboxed
(search algorithms, etc.), then seeing that the thing you did worked. Good grief, it is
satisfying when that happens.
What do you like doing when not at work?
If this is like trying to impress people at a party then I like to read literature,
write creatively (I have a degree in creative writing), swim, watch history
documentaries and play the guitar. However, while these are things I do actually
do from time-to-time, it’s far more likely that I will be sitting on the sofa playing video games or watching sports of some sort. I support Norwich City, but whether I like doing that or not is a different question.
