A bit about your role
I work as a Paid Media Consultant, creating and optimising paid campaigns across channels to help businesses maximise their return on investment.
Where did you work/study previously and how did it help you arrive at ob体育靠谱足球下载?
Originally, I graduated from university with a degree in English. Like many others on my course, I was firmly against going into teaching, so took a couple of years working in kitchens while I figured out what it was that I wanted to do. After three years training to become a chef, I went back to university and took a Digital Marketing MSc, graduating with a commendation. My first role was as an executive at an in-house company, and following my joining that company, achieved record profits for 3 months straight, driven by their growth in Paid Media. From there, I joined another agency based in Newcastle who predominantly work with SMEs that are in the hospitality and education sectors. I dreamed of working for bigger companies, with bigger budgets that I could use to make an impact. It was from there that I joined ob体育靠谱足球下载.
What is it about Digital Marketing that you find interesting?
I am, admittedly, a very competitive person. Working in Digital Marketing feeds that competitive nature, both intrinsically and extrinsically. Can my next campaign improve upon my last? Can I get a better return on investment than what the client was seeing previously? The desire to be better and do better is what keeps me fulfilled.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the numbers, and seeing the effects my campaigns have. Being able to see the statistical evidence of conversions and, as a result, return on investment that I’ve generated, is very satisfying.
What do you like doing when not at work?
I’m a firm believer in a healthy body equals a healthy mind. Lockdown only compounded that notion, and now if you don’t find me in a bar socialising with a pint of Kronenbourg, you can find me playing squash or going for a run.
